Myofascial Cupping
Myofascial Cupping
Myofascial cupping is a soft tissue therapy that uses suction (negative pressure) to lift, separate and stretch underlying tissues such as fascia and muscles. Cupping is typically applied to areas of tension and injury to stimulate healing:
Pressure builds inside the cup, allowing passive stretching of tight tissues resulting in increased range of movement. Fresh blood saturates the area being treated and this rich blood supply promotes cell repair, whilst old stagnant blood and other waste is directed out of the affected area.
Cupping is effective in the treatment of many conditions including:
- Back, neck and shoulder pain
- Sciatica
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Headaches and migraines
- Movement restrictions and more…
Please note: the cupping procedure may leave light to dark marks on the skin which disappear in 5-10 days.
